CalTIA Announcement Regarding
California Travel Market

Dear Travel and Tourism Colleague –

After several months of intensive buyer outreach and marketing, attendance for the 2007 California Travel Market (CTM) continues to be under projections. At the 2004 CTM, which was also held adjacent to a California POW WOW, we had record buyer attendance. However, buyers are communicating that their decision to attend the 2007 CTM has been affected due to the increased number of pre and post activities, including Rendezvous Canada, and it adds to the significant amount of time they would be away from their office.

CalTIA’s commitment is to deliver the highest quality event with a desirable number of buyers and suppliers to make CTM a good return on investment for all involved. Based upon these facts, the CalTIA Executive Committee in discussion with key sponsors, the California Travel and Tourism Commission (CTTC) and LA, Inc., the Convention and Visitors Bureau, have unanimously decided to reschedule the 2007 California Travel Market to accommodate the availability of the buyers and enhance their participation. You will be contacted by CalTIA staff to arrange for the return of any prepaid funds.

We would like to thank LA Inc. and their partners; CTTC and their GSA offices and CalTIA staff for all the extra efforts in putting together this event; marketing and reaching out to buyers and suppliers. Watch for news in the coming months regarding the next evolution of the California Travel Market, your exclusive California showcase!

Sincerely,
Brad Burlingame                                                             Ross Hutchings
